To be an artist is to live through your work. It involves more than simply “making things.” It is a fiery mixture of seeing what is not yet real and working to make it happen… of wishing the clay could understand your dreams, your hopes … and your frustrations. It is working until the ache in your muscles does pitched battle with the flights of your imagination, and you have no choice but to continue until there is resolution … no matter how fleeting that moment may be or what time it is on the clock.
