Gratitutions is the result of a two-year journey into memory.
The series includes about 100 paintings, acrylic on canvas, measuring 12 inches by 12 inches. Each piece evokes the raw remembrance of tiny, often random, sometimes painful, frequently glorious moments.
The loose, exuberant, gestural brushwork reflects Bonnie Heller's belief, ultimately, in the joy of living. Though personal in origin, there is universality about the images, reflecting the quotidian moments that make up a lifetime.
